06/10/2006 Snooper NEO S2 BEST BUDGET BUYThis unit looks like a small spaceship and is basic but it works. No fuss to install, it has a simple flashing light system when in a camera zone: red means you’re going too fast while blue = your speed’s ok. The lights are hard to see in bright daylight but you still get warning beeps, too. These are loud enough but surprisingly not annoying – though there’s a simple mute push-button if they do get to you. By far the cheapest unit tested, this is great value for money if you’re travelling in the UK only. Features include: Covers GPS fixed cameras and some hotspots. Speed-sensitive alerts, directional smart logic, automute, and you can add and delete your own camera sites. Powers from cigarette lighter. USB updates from Enigma database cost £4.95 month by month, about £50 for 12 monthly downloads or £99.50 for a ‘lifetime subscription’. 2 year warranty.
