The latest Snooper squeezes GPS and laser detectors (including a clever but suspiciously small 360-degree prism) into a single, mobile phone sized housing. It's the only unit on test with a pan-European camera database.
The LED display is very bright and clear and the three buttons are very easy to use. It's the cleverest unit on test, with features such as only warning you about schools at certain times of the day, user-programmable locations and even direction-sensitive alerts for cameras that track only one side of the road. Subscription includes access to a Motor Assist service for legal and insurance advice.

VERDICT: The best of the expensive units. It is competent, reliable and really simple to use. 5 star performance rating.
